You’ve ignored that slow drain long enough and now it is totally clogged. Here are some troubleshooting ideas to try to safely unclog your drain before calling the professionals.
Use a Natural Remedy to Dissolve a Clog
Using baking soda and white vinegar, first, remove all standing water. Pour 1/2 cup of the dry soda into the drain. Next, pour 1/2 cup of vinegar down the drain and cover. After a few minutes, flush the drain with boiling water. This mixture will help break down any fats or oils caught in the drain and pipes? and can be repeated as necessary.
Use a Plunger
If the clog is still there, what should you try next? Try a funnel-cup plunger and attempt to flush the material through. Using products that have enzymes or microorganisms that can digest or break down the clog may help as well.
If these methods fail, it is time to contact a plumbing professional. They will determine the best method to clear your drain. If your pipes are old and made of metal, there may be signs of corrosion that could result in pipe replacement.
